The short answer, so you have a number to give your customers
If you are importing childcare furniture from China, plan your lead time in two parts: how long we build it, and how long the ship takes. The build depends on order size. The sea voyage is roughly the same for everyone.
- Samples and small quantities: about 10–15 days to produce, then 35–40 days by sea — roughly 7–8 weeks door to door.
- Full production orders (MOQ 30–50 units): 30–45 days to produce, then 35–40 days by sea — roughly 10–12 weeks door to door.

Made to order, not pulled off a shelf
We are a factory, not a warehouse. Every piece is built fresh to your order — we do not keep large quantities of every model sitting on a shelf.
That sounds like the slow option. In practice it is an advantage: you receive new stock carrying your own branding, nothing that has been aging in a warehouse, and we can adjust dimensions, finishes, or hardware per order. The trade-off is the one above — we do not pre-stock deep inventory, so the clock starts when your order is confirmed.
Where the time actually goes
Two legs, every time.
Leg 1 — our side (build, pack, and deliver into the freight forwarder's warehouse). For a sample or small batch, this is about 15 days. For a full production order at MOQ, it is 30–45 days — the standard lead time quoted across our product pages. Larger volumes and heavier customization sit at the upper end.
Leg 2 — the sea voyage (warehouse to your door). This is 35–40 days. That figure comes from the shipping line itself, not from us — we quote you their number, not a guess.
Add the legs together and you get the ranges above: 7–8 weeks for a sample, 10–12 weeks for a full order. Notice which leg is longer. For a real order the build and the voyage are comparable; for a sample, the sea voyage is the bulk of your wait — and it is identical for any China supplier.
The build is the part we can make fast
Here is a number worth knowing: our bench production time on a small run can be as little as 10 days. Many factories quote 30–45 days just to make the goods, so on small quantities we are often well ahead of that. On full production orders we quote 30–45 days — a realistic figure that accounts for material batching, machining, finishing, and quality control at volume, not a padded placeholder.
The point is not that we are always faster. It is that the part we control — the making — is efficient, and the part nobody controls — the ocean — is where most of your calendar goes.
Can air freight rescue a tight deadline?
Sometimes, but here is the straight answer: air freight runs three to four times the cost of sea freight, and on furniture that usually eats a meaningful share of your margin. We will not push it to close a sale. For genuinely urgent, small, high-value shipments it can be worth pricing — ask, and we will get a real quote from the forwarder — but as a standing method for classroom furniture, sea freight is the only mature, commercially sensible option.
Shipping to Australia: fumigation is not optional
If your destination is Australia, the timber packaging must be ISPM-15 heat-treated (fumigated) before departure to satisfy DAFF biosecurity requirements. We route Australian shipments through Shenzhen precisely because the fumigation and biosecurity handling there is well established. You do not have to manage this step — but it is a fixed compliance stage built into the timeline, not something to be skipped.
Turning "8 weeks" into "ready when you are"
If you have a handful of bestsellers you reorder regularly, we can plan ahead and pre-build a batch of just those items, so they are ready to ship the moment you need them. That combines the upside of made-to-order — your branding, your specifications, fresh stock — with something close to shelf speed on the lines that move fastest. We are happy to work that plan out with you.
Our promise on the number
We would rather quote long and have your goods arrive early than promise a date we cannot fully stand behind. If a port runs slow or customs pulls a container for inspection, we never want you feeling misled. Whatever number you give your customers, our job is to help you keep it — every time.
