The MJK-CL-201 is a five-section storage coat locker purpose-built for Montessori classrooms, long day-care centres, and primary-school transition spaces. Each section provides one child with an independent personal space for the autonomous handling of coats, backpacks, and changing items — the physical foundation of Montessori Practical Life pedagogy and a direct vehicle for cultivating two core competencies: Independence and Order.

Body material: 15 mm or 18 mm European birch plywood, buyer's choice. The 18 mm version uses 13-ply construction, identical to MJK's full product line and matched to our Layer 1 rolling test report (HJ-QAT-260457, SHST lab, 0.039 ppm formaldehyde, 22% below CARB Phase 2 limit). The 15 mm version is tested under Layer 2 order-triggered protocol. No MDF. No softwood substitutes.

Surface finish: hardwax oil or sprayed clear lacquer, buyer's choice. Hardwax oil is a penetrating treatment that preserves the wood's natural grain and tactile feel — matte and natural, the preferred finish for Montessori naturalist aesthetics. Sprayed clear lacquer is a film-forming treatment with abrasion resistance and easy wipe-clean maintenance — preferred for long day-care centres and high-frequency-use environments. Both finishes meet children's furniture surface safety standards.

Unlike other coat-locker variants in this series, MJK-CL-201 adds one row of 5 open compartments at the top and another row of 5 open compartments at the bottom, on top of the standard 5-section hanging area. This gives each child a complete personal storage system — hanging area plus 2 independent small compartments — suitable for hats, books, art supplies, and seasonal accessories. All panels are edge-banded with rounded corners, designed to AS/NZS 4610 children's furniture surface safety conventions. Each of the 5 hanging sections is fitted with 1 metal hook (no horizontal hanging rail; the hook is mounted on each section's independent panel at a child-accessible sight-line height).
