What we actually do

More and more buyers come to us with their own design rather than a catalogue number — and the hard part is rarely "can you copy this drawing." It is "will this design survive production." That is exactly what we do: we take an idea and turn it into a product that can actually be manufactured, shipped flat, and repeated at volume.

We work in birch plywood with CNC machining, which is what makes complex custom shapes possible in the first place, and every custom piece still ships as KD flat-pack to keep container costs under control. Our full OEM & ODM capabilities set out the whole process end to end.

From drawing to first article

Many customers arrive with a design file, no prototype, and no existing supplier. We use precision CNC cutting to turn the drawing directly into a first-article prototype — controlled tolerances, curved and irregular shapes included — so you can hold the real object and validate the design before committing to a production run.

Not just "make it" — make it manufacturable

This is the real difference, and it is worth being blunt about. A drawing that can be drawn is not the same as a product that can be produced. Some designs look great on screen but hit a wall in the workshop: a structure that cannot be batch-produced, a joint that will not assemble, a form with unworkable yield at volume. The imagination is good; the build stalls.

What we do is turn a concept stuck on paper into something that can genuinely be built and repeatably produced. That means flagging where a structure fails at scale, showing how to change it while keeping the design intent, and working out how to break it down into KD flat-pack for the container. Evan's background in visual communication design, combined with a working factory floor, means "what the design is meant to be" and "whether it can actually be built" line up in the same hands. The result is not a one-off sample — it is a mature, repeatable, production-ready product.

The material and process moat

Birch plywood plus CNC is the ideal combination for custom work. The multi-layer structure is stable and can be milled into complex shapes — rounded corners, slots, and irregular forms in a single pass. And because custom pieces still leave the factory as KD flat-pack, they load into a container as efficiently as standard items. Proven on cross-category work

One example, kept anonymous: a customer came to us with a design for a birch-plywood pet-furniture structure — a drawing only, with no prototype and no existing supplier. We completed the first-article production and validated the manufacturability of the complex cutting and curved surfaces involved.

That same "drawing → first article → production-ready" capability applies directly to custom classroom bookshelves, irregular storage, and space-specific Montessori pieces. Custom does not move the material line

Whatever the shape, it is always birch plywood or solid wood — never MDF or particleboard. What is custom is the form and the plan, not the standard. That is a line we hold on every project, catalogue or bespoke.

Can you build from our own drawings?

Yes. We start with a first-article prototype from your CAD, you validate the physical sample, and then we move to a production run.

Do you only make catalogue items?

No. A large share of our work is made-to-spec. Birch plywood plus CNC lets us cut complex, irregular shapes that would not be practical in other materials.

Do you just machine to the drawing, or do you improve it?

More than machining. Some designs will fail if sent straight to production, so we point out where they won't work at volume and how to change them so they can actually be built — turning a concept into a producible product rather than a one-off sample.

We only have a design, no prototype — what then?

That is our usual starting point. We make a first article so you can validate it physically, then decide on the production run.

How do custom pieces ship?

The same way as standard items — KD flat-pack, to keep container costs down.
